The Collection
Every piece starts as an undyed base garment, then is hand-dyed with fermented kakishibu persimmon tannin in Kyoto — three or more applications, sun-cured between each. Fibre content and the base garment's country of origin are stated in full below, per piece.
A note on origin. SHIBUI does not weave or sew its own cloth. Base garments are sourced globally (Vietnam, Cambodia, India, per product below) and hand-dyed entirely in Kyoto, Japan. We state both facts on every tag and here, rather than implying the whole piece is Japanese-made.
